PrePress Technician (Flexographic Printing)

What you will do

• Prepare, manipulate, and preflight graphic files for print and digital reproduction using Macintosh and PC platforms.
• Optimize Photoshop images for flexographic printing, including color correction and image preparation.
• Apply imposition, color separation, trapping, screening, and electronic artwork stepping for press production.
• Create mylar dieline layouts and coordinate press approvals with press operators.
• Communicate with customer service, external customers, and business leaders to resolve artwork and production issues.
• Follow safety, quality, GMP, job reporting, and Lean manufacturing procedures while working under tight deadlines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal post-secondary training in graphic communications software and electronic prepress.
• 3–5 years of flexographic prepress experience for wide-web printing.
• Experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat PDF files, and Macintosh platforms.
• Strong Photoshop skills, including advanced color correction and image optimization.
• Ability to work safely in a production environment, collaborate effectively, and work overtime or weekends as required.

Nice to have

• Experience in digital, offset, and additional flexographic printing.
• Knowledge of Esko, DeskPack, and ArtPro+ software.
• Working knowledge of object-based screening processes and production workflows.
