Associate Director, Lab Operations-Pharma (GMP)

Location: Oakdale, Minnesota, United States. Onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead laboratory support functions in a cGMP pharmaceutical testing environment.
• Oversee equipment lifecycle management, including CAPEX/OPEX planning, qualification, calibration, maintenance, and asset tracking.
• Manage sample and stability program operations, including chain of custody, scheduling, storage, and protocol compliance.
• Direct supply chain, procurement, inventory, vendor relationships, and service contracts.
• Manage onboarding, site-wide training, competency programs, facilities, environmental controls, and infrastructure.
• Drive KPI monitoring, capacity planning, continuous improvement, process optimization, and staff development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology/Microbiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in a GMP pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical laboratory environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in laboratory operations.
• Experience leading laboratory operations, staff development, and operational performance initiatives.
• Strong understanding of laboratory compliance, equipment readiness, sample management, and stability programs.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Lean/Six Sigma qualifications.
• CRO/CDMO experience.
