TL;DR
Capabilities Assessment & Analysis Functional SME (JCIDS/SOFCIDS): Conducting capability assessments and trade-space studies for Special Operations Forces through modeling, simulations, tabletop exercises, war games, red-team analysis, prototyping, and demonstrations with an accent on force development, capability gaps, and requirements analysis. Focus on designing and leading experimentation events, developing scenarios and senior-leader briefings, evaluating DOTmLPF-P alternatives, and reporting lessons learned.
Location: Tampa, Florida, United States. Travel up to 25% of the time is required. TS/SCI clearance is required.

What you will do
- Conduct industry-standard experimentation, trade-space studies, and capability assessments evaluating warfighter capabilities, solution designs, program recommendations, and overall performance.
- Plan, design, coordinate, lead, and assess experimentation events from concept through post-execution review, including modeling, simulations, tabletop exercises, war games, red-team analysis, prototyping, and demonstrations.
- Develop scenarios, scripts, moderator guides, reference materials, action plans, milestone schedules, approval briefs, progress updates, reports, information papers, and presentations.
- Evaluate analytical toolsets and provide subject-matter expertise on emerging technologies and Special Operations Forces research and technology developments.
- Assess DOTmLPF-P alternatives, force changes, resourcing needs, and capability gaps to inform senior leaders.
- Coordinate with USSOCOM, SOF AT&L, DARPA, Department of Defense, Joint, Military Service, and SOF Component organizations, while maintaining stakeholder resources and points of contact.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; a master’s degree is preferred.
- DAU Requirement Management Level C training or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience assigned to a Combatant Command, preferably USSOCOM, and at least 2 years supporting the Joint Staff, a Service, or USSOCOM in a JCIDS-related assignment.
- Intermediate Service School PME level, Army Military Education Level 4, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience delivering at least one Special Operations-related SOFCIDS- or JCIDS-compliant capability assessment.
- Experience supporting JCIDS or SOFCIDS Level C processes, presenting products to general- or flag-level command staff, and using Microsoft Office products.
