Data Engineering Lead (Azure)

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
• Design, develop, maintain, and govern the GAM data warehouse on Azure.
• Perform hands-on development and code reviews, and participate in system integration and implementation.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations aligned with the technology roadmap.
• Lead complex, cost-effective solution design activities focused on business objectives and operational efficiency.
• Coach a high-performing group through indirect reporting and collaborate with clients, business partners, and application owners.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise data engineering and Azure platform delivery.
• Expert knowledge of Synapse, Databricks, Unity Catalog, and Medallion data architecture.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and governing scalable data platforms using Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, and Spark SQL, with a focus on secure, high-performing, and well-governed solutions.
• Experience translating business requirements into technical designs and solutions and working with technology and business partners.
• Strong development experience with Azure Data Factory for data loading and transformation orchestration, plus Python.
• Solid knowledge of Azure SQL, Azure Functions, API integration, CI/CD, observability, and cloud security.
• Ability to perform complex solution design, technical documentation, system development, integration, testing, and implementation.
• Ability to lead and coach through indirect reporting, collaborate effectively, adapt to change, and contribute to an inclusive team environment.

• Experience in Global Asset Management and investment data.
• Experience with enterprise governance frameworks.
