Forward Deployed Engineering Lead (AI)

Location: Remote - US; based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area

Salary: $200K–$250K annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end deployments of AI products inside customer web environments, from technical scoping and system design through production rollout.
• Ramp up on unfamiliar applications and debug HTML, DOM, rendering, and browser issues across static, server-rendered, and client-rendered architectures.
• Build reliable UI automation with Playwright, Puppeteer, and Chrome DevTools Protocol across desktop and mobile browsers.
• Tune AI orchestration, prompts, retrieval, and agent configuration for customer products and workflows.
• Handle cookies, sessions, tokens, and local or session storage to ensure secure, resilient deployments.
• Partner with customer engineering teams, create deployment playbooks and tooling, and feed deployment insights into the product roadmap.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience building and shipping production front-end web applications.
• Strong JavaScript, HTML, CSS, DOM, accessibility-tree, and browser-rendering knowledge.
• Deep production experience with React, Vue, or Svelte.
• Production experience with Playwright, Puppeteer, or Chrome DevTools Protocol.
• Working knowledge of AI/LLM systems, including prompting, retrieval, and orchestration.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Nice to have

• Forward-deployed, solutions engineering, or technical consulting experience at an AI or developer-focused company.
• Browser extension or Chrome extension ecosystem experience.
• Cross-platform automation across desktop and mobile browsers.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, agent frameworks, or AI orchestration layers.
• Experience scaling technical functions through playbooks, tooling, or processes.
