Web Designer / Design Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York, with remote work indicated

Salary: $190,000–$240,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own the design and frontend implementation of the Baseten marketing website.
• Build landing pages, product pages, launches, and campaigns from concept through production.
• Continuously improve the site through experimentation, messaging and layout testing, and conversion improvements.
• Create polished interactions, motion, and responsive details for the website.
• Build reusable components, patterns, and design systems for brand and marketing teams.
• Translate complex technical products into clear, compelling web experiences.

Requirements

• Fluency in modern frontend development with React, Next.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Ability to translate Figma designs into production-ready code and own the final result.
• Strong skills in typography, layout, interaction, motion, and responsive design.
• Experience building reusable components and patterns through systems thinking.
• Comfort experimenting, iterating, and using data to improve website effectiveness.
• Interest in technical products and ability to explain complex ideas through web experiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with motion design, animation, or WebGL.
• Experience with Three.js, React Three Fiber, shaders, or creative coding.
• Experience building developer-focused or deeply technical websites.
• Experience working with DatoCMS.
