RCM Manager (Healthcare)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina; primarily in a standard office environment or remotely. Applicants for North American-based positions must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.

What you will do

• Manage an RCM team responsible for medical billing activity and client accounts receivable collections.
• Oversee follow-up on unpaid, denied, underpaid, and overpaid claims, including payer contact, documentation review, coding verification, and corrective action.
• Monitor charges, payments, collections, adjustments, denials, unbilled accounts, credit issues, and holds through regular AR productivity and health reporting.
• Meet with clients to review billing progress, resolve issues, and respond to questions from clients and patients.
• Review staff and vendor work for accuracy, productivity, compliance, and process improvements.
• Provide team guidance, communicate required reports and issue resolutions, and maintain staff engagement and performance.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with medical billing systems, EMRs, interfaces, payer websites, and Laserfiche.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, medical EOBs, deductibles, copayments, authorizations, and payer correspondence.
• Experience with billing systems such as NextGen, Pro, Allscripts, or Epic.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of HMO and IPA plans, Medicare Fee-for-Service plans, and commercial payers.
• Strong communication, customer service, analytical, and team management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with MS Access and Crystal Reports.
• Accounting skills.
• Experience in psychiatry, internal medicine, orthopedics, or general surgery.
