TL;DR
Inventory Specialist Intern (Aerospace): Analysing and optimising storage efficiency across multiple warehouse locations supporting rocket production with an accent on inventory data, part-to-location ratios, and warehouse saturation. Location: Auckland, New Zealand; onsite at the Auckland Production Complex. New Zealand office roles require background and nationality checks for access to ITAR-regulated equipment and data.

What you will do
- Collect data on parts and storage locations across multiple warehouse facilities.
- Calculate part-to-location ratios and identify saturation, trends, and retrieval bottlenecks.
- Build heatmaps, dashboards, and other visualisations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and cross-functional teams to validate findings and develop storage improvements.
- Prepare a prioritised action plan, comprehensive report, process documentation, and stakeholder presentation.
- Support a pilot warehouse reorganisation and measure its impact on operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed an MBA or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to data quality.
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to apply operations and logistics concepts and theories.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, communicate proactively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Must meet the nationality and access requirements applicable to ITAR-regulated equipment and data for New Zealand office roles.
Nice to have
- Experience in stores, warehouse, inventory management, logistics, supply chain, or data analysis.
- Experience with process improvement or efficiency projects.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, inventory management systems, or ERP software such as Infor, SAP, or Oracle.
- Knowledge of warehouse management best practices and Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments.
