Director, Automation Engineering

Location: Walmart Home Office, Bentonville, Arkansas, United States

Annual salary: $130,000–$260,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and integration of advanced automation systems for supply chain operations.
• Use data analysis and visualization to generate insights for strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
• Manage cross-functional teams and projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely delivery.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses and financial evaluations to support return on investment and operational excellence.
• Develop and communicate automation engineering roadmaps with internal departments and external partners.
• Identify risks, create contingency plans, and monitor project performance.

Requirements

• Extensive automation engineering experience, including system design, integration, and implementation in supply chain environments.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills.
• Experience leading complex projects, managing risks, and delivering measurable business value.
• Expertise in process improvement and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Business acumen, strategic roadmap development, and financial analysis experience.
• Knowledge of mechatronics and programmable logic controllers, with effective communication and influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Master’s or doctorate in Computer Engineering.
