Bankruptcy Support Specialist (Fintech)

Location: Remote, limited to employees residing in AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, or WI. Office environment with significant time spent sitting, typing, and talking on the telephone.

Salary: USD $23.00–$24.00 per hour

What you will do

• Review, monitor, and manage accounts involved in bankruptcy proceedings, including account research, holds, status updates, customer requests, and correspondence.
• Prepare case notes and bankruptcy documents such as proofs of claim, reaffirmation agreements, discharge paperwork, and legal submissions.
• Coordinate with courts, trustees, attorneys, customers’ legal representatives, and internal departments.
• Monitor payment plans and make accurate account adjustments for repayment plans, settlements, and payoffs.
• Track case statuses, recoveries, and risks, and recommend loss-mitigation and debt-recovery strategies.
• Support Account Servicing and customers by handling bankruptcy-related inbound and transferred calls.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in bankruptcy, loan servicing, collections, or a related field.
• Proficiency with loan-servicing or case-management software.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet software.
• Ability to work accurately under deadline pressure, follow direction, adapt to change, and collaborate effectively.
