CORE | Data Center Technician (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, United States; occasional travel to data centers and Jump offices.

Annual base salary: $120,000–$180,000 USD.

What you will do

• Manage data center infrastructure covering power, cooling, hardware, cabling, tools, and supplies.
• Gather requirements and plan physical hardware installations, including space, power, cooling, and cabling needs.
• Coordinate data center work with internal teams, colocation providers, hardware vendors, and managed services providers.
• Plan capacity for space, cooling, power, and cabling, and maintain data center standards and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and repair data center infrastructure, servers, network devices, and storage equipment.
• Maintain serialized asset and consumables inventories and assist with equipment shipping and receiving.

Requirements

• At least two years of onsite data center experience.
• Understanding of electrical and power systems, cooling, mechanical infrastructure, and data center safety.
• Knowledge of cabling standards, media types, and installation best practices.
• Experience repairing data center infrastructure, servers, network devices, or storage devices.
• Ability to understand basic network designs and topologies and perform basic Linux command-line troubleshooting and scripting.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, time management, reliability, and availability.
