Annual compensation: $200,000–$230,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.

What you will do

  • Develop best practices for electronic filing and docketing across California offices in partnership with the Managing Attorney-CA.
  • Review court documents for accuracy, procedural compliance, and filing readiness.
  • Advise litigators on California state and federal court procedures, motion practice, and service of process.
  • Handle electronic filings through CM/ECF and California state court systems, as well as hard-copy filings and document retrieval.
  • Monitor active matters, cases, and litigants through PACER, Bloomberg Law, E-Courts, CourtAlert, Westlaw, and related databases.
  • Calculate and calendar deadlines, maintain docket and calendar entries, and provide sample pleadings and legal documents.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California state bar is required.
  • Familiarity with California federal and state court systems and applicable court rules.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interaction with lawyers, court staff, and clerical personnel.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, manage multiple activities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work and follow through on responsibilities.

Nice to have

  • Experience supervising members of a Managing Attorney or Clerk’s Office at a large law firm.
  • Experience with CourtAlert or similar calendaring software.
