Manufacturing Supervisor (Lean Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Piscataway, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Direct, mentor, and manage 10–12 technicians and production personnel on the manufacturing floor.
• Supervise daily molecular biology production lines, ensuring output targets, safety requirements, and ISO/GMP quality standards are met.
• Manage workload distribution, shift handovers, performance reviews, feedback, and skill-matrix development.
• Coordinate between floor personnel, cross-functional teams, and factory leadership.
• Troubleshoot equipment availability, material supply, and operational bottlenecks to prevent downtime.
• Apply Lean methods to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and implement continuous improvement initiatives without disrupting production.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on, on-site team management in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience managing teams of 10 or more laboratory technicians, with a track record in retention, conflict resolution, and team culture.
• Practical knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and tools, including 5S, TPM, VSM, SMED, standardized work, A3 reports, and ECRS.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, molecular biology, biotechnology, life sciences, manufacturing, or a related field.
• Lean production or Six Sigma certification; Green Belt or higher is preferred.
• Strong communication, data analysis, Excel, project implementation, training, and cross-departmental collaboration skills.
