What you will do

  • Deliver and accurately record radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist.
  • Interpret computerized treatment plans, calculate simple MU values, and enter and maintain treatment parameters in the electronic medical record.
  • Mentor radiation oncology employees and instruct newly hired staff and radiation therapy students on applicable equipment.
  • Support interviewing, hiring, work assignment, performance evaluation, and employee development activities.
  • Maintain patient appointment schedules and submit or review billing information for accuracy.
  • Assist with chart audits and quality assurance procedures, including potential development of QA procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program.
  • At least five years of active experience practicing as a radiation therapist.
  • ARRT certification is required.
  • A valid state license for radiation therapy is required.
  • Ability to stand for up to eight hours, lift a 40-pound block to shoulder level, assist patients on and off the treatment couch, and monitor treatment fields.
  • Ability to use treatment-planning computer components and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
