Senior Marine Underwriter (Reinsurance)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid work arrangement

Base salary: £106,000–£158,000 per year for a full-time role.

What you will do

• Analyse and assess submissions, exposures, and coverages across Marine classes including Cargo, Hull, Liability, Energy, and PVT.
• Identify and negotiate the best position for hirify.global’s treaty reinsurance business.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, wordings, and clauses.
• Develop strategies to expand current accounts and cross-sell other lines of business.
• Support the Line of Business Head with portfolio strategy and initiatives.
• Provide technical underwriting expertise and training to underwriters.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in insurance or reinsurance, gained in underwriting, broking, or related market-facing roles.
• Experience leading placements, negotiations, and client relationships.
• Strong broker and client relationship-building background.
• Proficiency with underwriting tools and the ability to interpret and assess their results.
• Ability to manage multiple deals in parallel while maintaining oversight.
• Strong commercial mindset with technical expertise, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience underwriting Composite placements.
• Experience in Large and Medium Sized Corporate underwriting.
