Chemical Processing Operator I

What you will do

• Handle, classify, segregate, label, package, and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Segregate chemicals by compatibility and DOT hazard class, determining which materials can be safely consolidated.
• Perform hazardous-material bulking and repackaging in a safe and compliant manner.
• Prepare shipping documents, coordinate transportation, and approve outbound packing slips.
• Create inventories, QA/QC records, and waste-tracking documentation while following final-disposition facility protocols.
• Mentor entry-level chemists on standard operating procedures and provide initial training.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Ability to safely wear and use all required PPE, including air-purifying respirators.
• Accuracy, thoroughness, attention to detail, prioritization, and the ability to manage diverse responsibilities.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug and alcohol testing, and background screening.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
• Experience with hazardous-waste classification, lab-pack segregation, and waste handling.
