Chemical Operator I

What you will do

• Operate chemical process units according to standard operating procedures, quality requirements, and regulatory mandates.
• Monitor gauges and recording instruments, adjusting valves and controls to regulate chemical flow and reactions within critical limits.
• Transfer materials between tanks, drums, rail cars, totes, and other containers using pumps, piping, valves, and pressurized lines.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues and assist with raw-material unloading, minor maintenance, and cleanup.
• Participate in equipment lockout/tagout, work permitting, and hazardous line-break execution.
• Receive and follow oral and written instructions, emails, data files, log sheets, SOPs, and batch-record documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related experience or equivalent technical training/certification is preferred.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime.
• Demonstrated safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and ability to wear respiratory protection.
• Ability to frequently lift 25–50 lb and occasionally lift 50–100 lb with necessary assistance, and climb stairs and ladders frequently.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying heat and cold conditions, follow instructions, and collaborate in a team environment.
