Equipment Assembler (Manufacturing)

Location: Waukegan, Illinois, United States; onsite, 1st shift, Monday–Friday

Salary: $25–$35 per hour, paid twice monthly

What you will do

• Assemble machine parts to close tolerances using blueprint instructions.
• Check parts against bills of materials and prepare components for subassembly.
• Work with engineering to verify blueprints and specification sheets.
• Gather hardware and modify parts using drills, saws, and other machine tools.
• Assist with moving machinery using chain hoists, electric lift trucks, and hand dollies.

Requirements

• Previous mechanical experience in production mechanics, auto mechanics, machine shops, or comparable hands-on training.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools, including micrometers, vernier instruments, and calipers.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write in English and communicate effectively.
• Experience with hand tools, drill presses, lathes, mills, floor-standing saws, and powered lift trucks.
• Ability to perform MIG, TIG, ARC, spot, and brazing welds, with a focus on stainless steel; successful completion of a company mechanical test is required.
