TL;DR
Part-time Infusion RN Float (Oncology Infusion Care): Administering chemotherapy, hydration, medications, and blood products while monitoring patients and supporting infusion care across multiple clinic locations with an accent on oncology nursing, IV access, central lines, and infusion pumps. Focus on assessing treatment reactions, coordinating dose modifications, educating patients and caregivers, and maintaining safe cytotoxic-agent handling.

Location: Corvallis, Albany, Newport, Springfield, and Eugene, Oregon; occasional travel between sites may be required.

Salary: $42.00–$69.46 per hour.

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is a private cancer care clinic group providing oncology and hematology services in Central Oregon.

What you will do

  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, medications, and blood products under physician or APP supervision.
  • Assess patients for abnormal laboratory results, treatment reactions, and changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, maintain central lines, and operate ambulatory infusion pumps.
  • Support dose modifications, treatment documentation, chemotherapy charge forms, authorizations, and patient consent processes.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home infusion pumps, treatment, symptom management, and available community resources.
  • Provide nursing coverage and cross-coverage for satellite offices as needed.

Requirements

  • At least three years of nursing experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited professional nursing education program; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license from the state board of nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification and compliance with continuing education requirements.
  • Strong IV, venipuncture, central-line, infusion-device, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work with patients and handle potential exposure to chemotherapeutic agents, toxic substances, and communicable diseases.

Nice to have

  • Current OCN certification.
  • Prior oncology experience.
