Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid from the Seattle, WA office, with an expectation of at least 50% in-office time monthly, typically three days per week.

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 annual base salary, plus equity and additional compensation components.

What you will do

• Design and ship backend product features, including services, APIs, data models, and durable workflows.
• Build scalable money-movement flows on Temporal with idempotency, observability, ledgering, reconciliation, and compliance gating.
• Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex in spec-driven development while owning architecture, correctness, and quality.
• Set standards for secure, reliable, well-tested, extensible, and scalable systems.
• Shape product roadmaps, make technical trade-offs, and drive large features from design through launch.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, Compliance, Infrastructure, and Operations, occasionally contributing to React/TypeScript frontend work.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building backend services in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
• Strong Go skills, or deep experience with Java, Kotlin, C#, or a comparable language with the ability to adopt Go quickly.
• Fluency with AI coding agents as a daily development practice.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and performant cloud services, such as on AWS.
• Experience owning large features with Product Management, including estimating, planning, and delivery.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Temporal, Cadence, Step Functions, or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Payments, fintech, or money-movement experience.
• Comfort with React and TypeScript.
