Lead Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: US - Bellevue, WA; hybrid position with office attendance confirmed by the hiring manager

Salary: $173,100–$276,800 USD per year, plus potential bonus and equity

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable software for payment services, transaction platforms, real-time payments, and Buy Now Pay Later technology.
• Lead technical and functional strategy for e-commerce platforms and payment-product interfaces.
• Collaborate with product, testing, DevOps, and Agile/Scrum teams to define solutions and improve product quality.
• Plan and integrate new technology capabilities that enhance e-commerce user experiences.
• Analyze recurring bug patterns and implement systemic solutions for reliable, usable websites and services.
• Develop robust products for merchants, businesses, and government solutions at global scale.

Requirements

• 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent advanced-degree experience path.
• Expertise in one or more development languages, including Go, Java, C#, or C++.
• Experience developing backend code with Go, C/C++, containers, and gRPC.
• Experience with APIs, event-driven architecture, distributed systems, and Kafka or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, including testing automation, deployment, and release strategies.
• Expertise in observability, cloud-ready components, databases, systems integration, data structures, and polyglot architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience using Kubernetes, Docker, MCPs, and generative AI models for software development.
• 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred-degree experience path.
