Senior Accountant (Temporary Role)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid work with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week.

Salary: EUR 2,100–3,400 per month for a full-time role. This is a one-year contract.

What you will do

• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting, reporting, and closing activities for assigned real estate entities and portfolios.
• Account for real estate investments, construction projects, asset capitalization, depreciation, accruals, and intercompany transactions under IFRS and internal policies.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, profit and loss analyses, portfolio reporting, and explanations of significant variances.
• Perform reconciliations, analyses, and controls to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of financial information.
• Coordinate with asset management, carrier management, project managers, external service providers, and other stakeholders.
• Support statutory reporting, audits, regulatory requirements, process improvements, automation initiatives, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or real estate accounting.
• University degree in accounting, audit, finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting principles, accounting controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
• Experience with SAP or other financial accounting systems, plus strong MS Office and IT skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

• Real estate accounting experience.
• Experience with data analytics, automation tools, Copilot, or ChatGPT.
