Legal Technology & AI Attorney - Tech & Innovation (AI)

Location: Based in any U.S. office — Century City, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Orange County, Palo Alto, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C.; New York and Palo Alto are preferred.

Annual compensation: $250,000–$290,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.

What you will do

• Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies to technology-sector legal matters, including privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property, regulatory, litigation, and transactions.
• Evaluate, prototype, and implement AI-assisted research, drafting, document analysis, automation, prompt libraries, and technology-enabled workflows.
• Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, Research, Practice Group Management, and Information Technology to design practical legal technology solutions.
• Enhance Tech & Innovation knowledge resources by incorporating legal, regulatory, and market developments into model materials and guidance.
• Build scalable precedent and knowledge infrastructure and use structured review methods to improve consistency and knowledge reuse.
• Lead training sessions, gather user feedback, and support continuous improvement of knowledge management products and technology adoption.

Requirements

• J.D., Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent degree with strong academic credentials.
• Admission to practice and good standing in the state where the candidate will be based.
• At least four years of experience in a technology-focused legal practice.
• Strong interest in AI and emerging technology and the ability to apply legal training to workflow design, tool development, or process improvement.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, organization, critical-thinking, and independent-judgment skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and build relationships across practice groups and departments.

Nice to have

• Personal or professional coding or technology-building experience.
• Experience with experimentation, iteration, AI-assisted legal tools, and knowledge systems.
