Vice President Corporate Communications & Investor Relations (Biotech)

Location: South San Francisco, CA, United States; onsite Tuesday–Thursday

Salary: $285,000–$350,000 USD annually, plus stock options and an annual bonus program.

What you will do

• Develop and implement communications strategies for corporate and product stories across external and internal audiences.
• Lead media relations and maintain relationships with healthcare, biotech business, local media, and patient advocacy organizations.
• Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to manage corporate brand positioning and messaging.
• Advise product and project teams on communications and message development across clinical, medical, commercial, research, HR, legal, and regulatory functions.
• Create and oversee press releases, fact sheets, talking points, Q&A documents, website content, and communications for media and scientific conferences.
• Manage public relations agencies, budgets, program measurement, and internal communications initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive communications experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
• Required experience with public pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies; agency and in-house experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to develop and execute communications strategies, influence leadership teams, and advise executives.
• Strong strategic, analytical, presentation, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of commercial compliance and laws and regulations governing the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally; BA/BS required, MBA preferred.

• Experience with late-stage programs and commercial product launches.
• Experience with PR agencies and in-house communications teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
