Focus on monitoring ultra-cold storage units, preparing batched shipments, maintaining study documentation, and handling dry ice and liquid nitrogen safely.

Location: Onsite in Rochester, New York. Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM; 40 hours per week.

Salary: $17.50–$19.50 per hour.

What you will do

  • Receive, process, accession, store, and prepare clinical trial specimens for shipment.
  • Perform receipt checks, quality control, data entry, and specimen-related documentation in laboratory information management systems.
  • Prepare samples for routine and batched shipments while following study documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor specimen storage units using environmental monitoring software to protect sample integrity.
  • Handle samples at temperatures down to -80°C and -196°C, including deliveries and boxes containing dry ice.
  • Maintain storage areas, waste ice receptacles, and a clean working environment; escalate issues to senior staff when needed.

Requirements

  • Follow company policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Work effectively both independently and in a group setting.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, Microsoft Office skills, and accurate data entry.
  • Frequently walk, stand, or squat and occasionally handle 20–50 pounds; safely work with dry ice and liquid nitrogen.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience in a laboratory or highly regulated environment.
