Associate Director Data Architect (Biotech)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid

Salary: $187,545–$229,222 USD per year, plus performance-based annual bonus, new hire equity grant, and eligibility for annual equity awards.

What you will do

• Own and govern enterprise integration platforms, middleware, APIs, and data flows.
• Define integration standards, reusable frameworks, API lifecycle governance, change control, and versioning.
• Design real-time APIs, event-based messaging, ETL/ELT, batch processes, and cloud-based integrations.
• Lead cross-functional integration projects supporting system migrations, digital initiatives, and SaaS deployments.
• Oversee monitoring, issue resolution, performance tuning, documentation, and interface inventories.
• Partner with vendors, implementation partners, application owners, and IT stakeholders to shape future-state architecture.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in IT integrations, middleware, or enterprise architecture.
• 3–5 years of leadership experience managing vendors, engineering teams, or integration teams.
• Hands-on expertise with Workato, Oracle Integration Cloud, MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of API management, REST/SOAP services, event-driven architecture, microservices, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud-native development.
• Experience with security, authentication, encryption, data governance, privacy regulations, IT controls, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; experience in biotech, life sciences, healthcare, finance, or manufacturing is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Certification in Oracle, AWS, Azure, GCP, or integration platforms.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, Workday, Veeva Vault, and Salesforce.
• Biotech and commercial launch experience.
