Laboratory Business Manager

Location: Pasadena, TX, USA; on-site laboratory operations.

What you will do

• Lead, schedule, train, and evaluate laboratory personnel while coordinating work across departments.
• Oversee daily laboratory, quality, logistics, and managerial operations.
• Manage budgets, capital expenses, operating costs, revenue, profit growth, and laboratory indicators.
• Ensure technical activities, quality systems, health and safety programs, and documentation comply with company and regulatory requirements.
• Build relationships with clients, industry officials, corporate partners, and other laboratory locations.
• Support technical proposals, major study quotations, marketing strategies, business expansion plans, and investment recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent directly related experience.
• At least 10 years of supervisory experience.
• At least 10 years of professional laboratory operations experience, including at least 5 years leading laboratory operations or large, multi-department teams with profit and loss accountability for $5M+ net sales or an equivalent operation.
• Demonstrated success improving operational, profit, quality, and safety performance.
• Knowledge of laboratory operations and EPA, DOT, OSHA, and DOL regulations, plus strong customer relations, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
