3rd Shift Maintenance Technician

Location: Bloomfield, Connecticut, USA. Onsite third-shift role from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with 8–12-hour shifts, overtime, and weekend coverage as needed.

Salary: $36.70–$41.25 per hour, depending on location, experience, skills, and education.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, modify, and maintain automated bakery production equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electromechanical, and PLC-related issues.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
• Read schematics, electrical drawings, technical manuals, and equipment documentation while using precision measurement and testing equipment.
• Mentor mechanics, share technical knowledge, and collaborate with production, engineering, reliability, safety, and continuous improvement teams.
• Support equipment improvement initiatives, maintenance inventory management, overtime, and weekend coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, plus a trade school certificate or associate degree in maintenance, industrial technology, mechanical, electrical, or a related field.
• At least eight years of industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced manufacturing maintenance experience, including automated production equipment, electromechanical systems, PLC-controlled equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, piping, welding, and fabrication.
• Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals and use hand tools, power tools, machine shop equipment, precision instruments, and electrical testing devices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a physically demanding manufacturing environment, including elevated locations, varying temperatures, dust, noise, and regular lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology, maintenance, or a related field.
• Experience in bakery, food manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods environments.
• Advanced PLC troubleshooting, automation, welding, fabrication, reliability-centered maintenance, or predictive maintenance experience.
• Experience mentoring maintenance technicians and using SAP or computerized maintenance management systems.
