Associate Cybersecurity Platform Engineer (Microsoft Security)

What you will do

• Triage incoming cybersecurity requests, identify the appropriate domain and owner, gather technical evidence, and coordinate resolution.
• Support Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Entra ID, Intune, email security, and DLP operations.
• Validate log, endpoint, and security-platform integrations and assist with routine troubleshooting.
• Review enterprise application access, authentication requirements, group assignments, endpoint health, alerts, phishing reports, and email quarantine activity.
• Maintain security documentation, checklists, standard operating procedures, platform records, and operational dependencies.
• Escalate privileged access, elevated-risk requests, architectural changes, containment, forensics, and other activities outside the role’s delegated scope.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, endpoint management, identity administration, systems administration, or a related technical field.
• Basic knowledge of authentication, authorization, least privilege, endpoint security, phishing, malware protection, logging, and network access.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows endpoints, and enterprise IT environments.
• Ability to interpret information from administrative consoles, logs, and configuration screens.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, written communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to follow established procedures and recognize situations requiring escalation.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365, Intune, or Entra ID.
• Experience with SSO, enterprise application onboarding, SaaS security, web-access controls, Azure, ServiceNow, or PowerShell.
• Microsoft or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
