Streaming News Producer

Location: NY, New York; onsite at the PIX11 newsroom in Midtown

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 per year

What you will do

• Produce live streaming newscasts and video-on-demand content for the PIX11+ streaming app.
• Conceptualize programs, manage their content and flow, and adapt quickly to breaking news and weather.
• Create, edit, and request graphic and video elements to support news coverage.
• Organize and delegate the booking of timely live interview guests.
• Upload, annotate, and schedule streaming programs and VOD content through Akta.
• Coach peers and develop in-house expertise in pre-produced and breaking streaming programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluent English, strong news judgment, journalistic integrity, current-events awareness, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• 3–5 years of experience in news operations, including producing standard linear newscasts.
• Prior streaming production experience and proficiency with OBS and vMix are required.
• Basic knowledge of camera settings, studio lighting, audio processing, and the IT and engineering elements of livestreaming.
• Ability to work any shift, including overnights, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom.

Nice to have

• Experience producing local news with vMix or OBS.
• Management experience or experience producing special projects and events.
• Non-linear video editing skills and familiarity with Adobe Premiere.
• Knowledge of the NYC media market.
• Proficiency with ENPS, BitCentral, Latakoo, AP Newsroom, Getty Images, and Daybook.
