Supplier Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Brighton, Colorado, United States; on-site

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year plus bonus; restricted stock units included.

What you will do

• Own supplier quality performance, requirements, quality agreements, KPIs, scorecards, and risk mitigation plans for assigned suppliers and commodities.
• Qualify and develop suppliers through quality assessments, process audits, capability evaluations, and targeted improvement plans.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and suppliers during NPI; review drawings, GD&T, PFMEAs, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, inspection plans, and CTQs.
• Lead process validation, DFM/DFA/DFR reviews, FAI/FAIR and PPAP approvals, and production ramp readiness.
• Investigate supplier nonconformances and drive containment, root-cause analysis, 8D, CAPA, RCCA, corrective-action verification, and closure.
• Establish risk-based incoming inspection, manage supplier changes, and lead Lean Six Sigma projects to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and supplier-related COPQ.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, Quality Engineering, or a related field, including direct work with manufacturing suppliers and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, 8D/RCCA, CAPA, and process audits.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, technical specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing skills.
• Willingness to travel to supplier facilities; participation in safety, background check, drug, and alcohol programs is mandatory.

Nice to have

• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Supplier Quality Professional, or similar certification.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with PPAP/APQP, automotive or aerospace quality methodologies, and specialized manufacturing processes.
• Experience with ERP/QMS platforms, supplier quality dashboards, high-growth manufacturing, NPI/ramp environments, or strategic subcontractors.
