Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; this position is based in Plano, TX.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable backend services and modern user interfaces for dealer and consumer journeys.
• Own features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build and maintain APIs supporting dealer workflows, pricing requests, and credit journeys.
• Contribute to architecture, performance, scalability, resiliency, observability, and operational decisions.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions while improving engineering standards and maintainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and use AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery speed and code quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience delivering production-grade systems.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices architectures, APIs, and event-driven messaging.
• Practical AWS experience with ECS/Fargate, IAM, S3, and CloudWatch.
• Frontend development experience with React, Next.js, or Vue, plus experience with Splunk or Dynatrace.
• Must have the right to work in the United States and must not require employment-based visa or work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience in automotive or financial services.
• Exposure to distributed systems and high-availability platforms.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted coding tools.
• Experience contributing to platform standards, shared services, reusable frameworks, or technical initiatives.
• Proven mentorship of junior engineers.
