Lead Commissioning Engineer - E&I (Oil & Gas)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role is initially based in the client or contractor office in Abu Dhabi and involves offshore commissioning activities.

What you will do

• Develop and implement commissioning strategies, execution plans, schedules, systemization, and subsystem boundaries.
• Lead pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing, and handover for offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with construction, engineering, operations, vendors, ADNOC Offshore Operations, EPC contractors, OEMs, and subcontractors.
• Lead commissioning of process and utility systems, electrical power distribution, HV/LV switchgear, DCS, ESD, F&G, instrumentation, control, and telecom systems.
• Supervise offshore commissioning teams, manage punch-list closure and commissioning constraints, and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Review commissioning dossiers, test records, turnover documentation, performance guarantee tests, and final handover to Operations and the Asset Owner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
• At least 18 years of oil and gas experience, including at least 10 years in commissioning leadership roles.
• Experience with brownfield modifications, platform upgrades, and live plant tie-ins.
• Knowledge of commissioning and start-up management, process operations, system completion management, performance testing, and plant acceptance.
• Experience with DCS, ESD, F&G, electrical and instrumentation commissioning, ICAPS, WinPCS, or completions software.
• Knowledge of HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOPS, ADNOC standards and procedures, HSE requirements, and permit-to-work processes.

• Previous ADNOC Offshore project experience.
• Commissioning Management certification.
