Salary: $116,875–$158,125 per year in Palo Alto, New York, and San Francisco; $105,400–$142,600 per year in Austin, Boston, Boulder, Century City, Delaware, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Diego, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and other locations

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and optimize innovation and AI solutions for legal practice and enterprise use cases.
• Design data ingestion, transformation, integration, metadata, dependency, and workflow infrastructure.
• Automate manual processes, improve data delivery, and develop integrations across diverse data sources.
• Apply analytics, statistics, NLP, and machine learning to generate insights into customer acquisition, operations, billing, case outcomes, and legal practice metrics.
• Integrate LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, RAG applications, and MCP servers into existing applications.
• Protect sensitive firm and client data across applications, vendors, data centers, and multiple offices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, DataOps, or DevOps roles.
• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience with Python, R, JavaScript, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, ETL, APIs, Git, and technical documentation in Markdown.
• Experience with Azure, including AI Search, Logic Apps, containers, Azure Functions, AKS, ACR, Key Vault, Blob Storage, Azure DevOps, and Azure Pipelines.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, Terraform, secure cloud operations, RBAC, secrets management, infrastructure troubleshooting, and release safety.
• Experience with AI/ML data preparation, feature engineering, dataset versioning, bias mitigation, embeddings, semantic search, and RAG workflows.

Nice to have

• AI/ML data preparation certification or equivalent machine learning or data engineering coursework.
• Experience with legal technology platforms and legal workflow requirements.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA as applied to AI systems in legal contexts.
• Law firm experience.
