Software Engineer, Data Quality (FinTech)

What you will do

• Analyze and document hirify.global's data model and the different billing formats used by AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Build automated data validation, reconciliation, and anomaly-detection checks with supporting workflows such as Argo.
• Investigate data-quality issues to root cause, resolve them, and automate safeguards against recurrence.
• Replace manual pre-demo data checks with durable automated coverage and extend test automation across critical product surfaces.
• Collaborate with sales and customer success to diagnose and resolve live data questions.
• Use AI tooling to accelerate investigation, check generation, and anomaly triage.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software or data engineering experience, or equivalent hands-on experience building and shipping code.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, trustworthy financial data.
• Fluent SQL for transformation and reconciliation, plus scripting experience.
• Python is preferred; experience with another programming language is acceptable with willingness to learn Python.
• Preference for automating recurring checks and comfort using AI tooling with sound judgment.
• Interest in becoming an expert in cloud-provider billing models across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud billing, FinOps, or other financial-data domains.
• Experience with dbt tests, Great Expectations, Soda, or similar data-quality frameworks.
• Workflow orchestration with Argo, Airflow, or Dagster, plus data pipeline or ETL experience.
• Test automation and CI for data or application surfaces.
• Experience making data trustworthy for customer-facing or revenue-critical use.
