Analytics Engineer (FinTech)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid with two in-office days per week on Tuesday and Thursday

Salary: €48,000–€54,000 gross per annum

What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of warehouse data products and straightforward data ingestions.
• Establish data lineage, PII handling, auditability, and reliable data product governance.
• Maintain shared dimensional models and central semantic metrics for the Data Mesh.
• Build auditable data models that automate complex regulatory and compliance reporting.
• Guide shared warehouse infrastructure with the Data Platform team and contribute context for internal warehouse maintenance agents.
• Document knowledge and conduct code reviews to prevent bottlenecks and improve team autonomy.

Requirements

• Expert-level SQL skills and proficiency in Python for scripting and pipeline work.
• Strong data modeling experience, including scalable models serving multiple stakeholders and use cases.
• Deep experience with dbt or similar semantic modeling tools, plus familiarity with workflow orchestration.
• Regular use of Git and CI/CD in data development workflows.
• Ability to communicate methodologies and findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Self-directed ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and working fluency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Cursor.

Nice to have

• Previous experience as a Data Engineer.
• Experience in FinTech or highly regulated data environments.
• Exposure to LLM tooling built on a data warehouse.
• Experience with Looker, Hex, or Tableau.
