Carrier Relations Analyst

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid work required Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year, plus eligibility for quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Advise on and analyze transportation procurement strategies across truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal, parcel, and air freight.
• Profile new carriers and service providers and implement them within the appropriate customer networks.
• Analyze current, historical, and market rates, conduct quarterly benchmarking studies, and lead vendor QBRs.
• Support carrier recognition programs, benchmarks, initiatives, customer reporting, and performance metrics.
• Partner with Procurement, Technology, Operations, Implementation, AP, Audit, Knowledge Services, and Sales Leadership on customer projects and network improvements.
• Develop strategies to reduce customer costs and eliminate vendor aging issues.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of combined experience in carrier procurement and logistics or operations.
• Strong understanding of carrier and service-provider contracts, transportation modes, transit times, networks, and rate structures.
• Knowledge of FP&A audit and vendor payment processes, reporting trends, and performance analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Availability to travel 5–10% of the time.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently under deadlines.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Tableau.
• Experience with TMS platforms such as MercuryGate or Oracle Transportation Management.
• Familiarity with DAT-TransCore, PC*Miler, Rand McNally, TriumphPay, EDI integration, or MacroPoint.
