Field Engineer (Medical Imaging)

Location: Maryland, US; must live within the service territory. The role is based from a home office but requires field service at hospitals and imaging centers, daily driving, and possible overnight travel.

Compensation: $32.74–$43.65 per hour plus bonus potential.

What you will do

• Install, troubleshoot, service, and maintain laser printers, networks, CR and DR X-ray systems, radio fluoroscopy equipment, and other hospital equipment.
• Visit customers proactively, manage equipment issues, set expectations, and provide timely technical communication.
• Diagnose and resolve electronic, mechanical, and networking problems using technical tools, resources, and escalation processes.
• Complete preventive maintenance, Field Change Orders, installations, service documentation, and related administrative tasks.
• Generate service revenue by recommending solutions aligned with the service portfolio.
• Participate in regional teamwork, implement best practices, and mentor colleagues.

Requirements

• Associate degree in electronics or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronics, or mechanical engineering is preferred.
• At least 4 years of diagnostic imaging experience or 6 years of electronics industry experience, preferably in field service.
• Knowledge of computers, networking, Microsoft Office, electronic and mechanical theory, schematics, and site drawings.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record compliant with Fleet Policy.
• Ability to meet customer certification and credentialing requirements for access to healthcare facilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with X-ray systems or complex medical devices.
• Knowledge of Carestream equipment.
