What you will do
- Act as the primary Procurement representative for new product development, product development, custom product solutions, and value improvement projects.
- Manage supplier communications, requests for quotations, project updates, and contract negotiations.
- Identify, qualify, and approve suppliers in collaboration with engineering and cross-functional project teams.
- Optimize product cost and performance through supplier collaboration and total cost of ownership improvements.
- Lead make-versus-buy evaluations, manage purchase orders, and align material deliveries with project schedules.
- Oversee procurement through product qualification and transition to production while mentoring Procurement team members.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience in the medical device industry.
- Strong communication, negotiation, supplier relationship-building, and manufacturing process knowledge.
- Experience with supplier qualification, validation, technical documentation, Quality Assurance, BQA, and Regulatory compliance.
- Experience with commodities used in medical device manufacturing.
- Advanced MS Office, MS Excel, MS Project, ERP, and PLM skills are required, including SAP, QAD, Agile, ETQ, or similar systems.
