Purchasing Manager (Medical Devices)

Location: Skaneateles, New York, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $96,000–$132,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead Buyers and set priorities aligned with manufacturing schedules, business objectives, and customer requirements.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor delivery and quality performance, and drive corrective and recovery actions.
• Review MRP outputs, demand forecasts, lead times, and material requirements to support uninterrupted production.
• Maintain purchasing parameters, safety stock, reorder points, order policies, and inventory strategies.
• Partner with manufacturing, sourcing, engineering, quality, warehouse, logistics, and operations teams on engineering changes and new product introduction.
• Drive cost savings, lead-time reduction, supply risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in procurement, materials planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems, inventory planning tools, supply chain reporting systems, and Microsoft Excel; SAP or Maestro experience is preferred.
• Experience leading or supervising Buyers, Planners, or supply chain personnel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, communication, supplier management, and escalation management skills.
• Understanding of procurement, materials planning, MRP, inventory optimization, demand planning, forecasting, capacity planning, and S&OP.

Nice to have

• Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of FDA, ISO, GMP, and regulated manufacturing compliance requirements.
• APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
