Tax and Accounting Assistant

Location: Hybrid schedule based primarily in the Dodgeville, Wisconsin office, with 1–2 remote days per week.

Salary: $42,300–$60,100 USD per year, plus variable compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Process W-2s, 1099s, eFile activities, tax service fees, customer mailings, and consent-to-disclosure forms.
• Schedule tax planning and preparation appointments and enter basic tax return information for Tax Consultants.
• Assign CIF numbers, create member records, and maintain tax databases.
• Provide accurate and timely tax and accounting processing support while tracking workload and following department procedures.
• Enter less complex accounting activities, including depreciation, payroll, and full-service accounts.
• Prepare, balance, print, assemble, and mail accounting reports while directing customer questions to appropriate specialists.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry-level experience in accounting or tax within a financial institution.
• Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
• Accuracy, attention to detail, organization, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and CRM programs.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships across organizational levels.
