TL;DR
Associate Quality Practice Advisor (Healthcare Quality): Educates community physician and small provider practices on HEDIS measures, medical record documentation, and medical coding with an accent on provider performance improvement and regulatory compliance. Focus on analyzing quality data, coaching providers on closing care gaps, documenting action plans, and supporting HEDIS studies and reporting.

Location: Remote-PA; must live in the Central Pennsylvania area and travel up to 75% of the time

Pay range: $27.02–$48.55 per hour

What you will do

  • Educate community physicians and small provider practices on NCQA HEDIS measures, medical record documentation, and ICD-9/10 and CPT coding.
  • Collect, summarize, and trend provider performance data to identify quality improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Provider Relations on quality, risk adjustment, claims, and encounter operations.
  • Deliver provider-specific metrics and coach practices on closing care gaps and improving member participation in wellness and education.
  • Document provider visits, findings, action plans, outcomes, and quality-of-care concerns.
  • Support HEDIS studies and regulatory reporting by requesting records, maintaining databases, researching encounter history, and ensuring accurate submissions.

Requirements

  • Must live in the Central Pennsylvania area, have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, and be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public health, nursing, psychology, health administration, social work, or a related field, or equivalent managed-care experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in HEDIS medical record review or quality improvement, including data and chart reviews, provider consultation, and education; alternatively, 2 years of medical coding or transferable experience.
  • Ability to support HEDIS documentation, quality improvement, medical coding, provider education, and regulatory compliance.
  • Compliance with state regulations, accrediting-body requirements, and reporting deadlines.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in healthcare, public health, nursing, psychology, health administration, social work, or a related field.
  • Certification or license such as CCS, LPN, LMSW, LVN, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, RN, APRN, HCQM, CHP, or CPHQ.
