TL;DR

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite

What you will do

  • Perform dimensional, visual, workmanship, receiving, first article, in-process, and final inspections of avionics hardware.
  • Inspect PCBs, electronic components, wire harnesses, connectors, terminals, splices, shielding, labeling, and related flight hardware.
  • Verify components against drawings, bills of material, purchase orders, part numbers, revisions, manufacturer information, and specifications.
  • Review supplied documentation, record hardware discrepancies, track discrepancy reports, and generate and verify Non-Conforming Material Reports.
  • Perform basic electrical testing with portable measuring devices and established test equipment.
  • Share inspection data and discrepancy findings with engineers, buyers, suppliers, vendors, and customers.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in receiving or avionics inspection of aerospace components.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, drawings, bills of material, and process and design specifications.
  • Experience with First Article Inspections, Source Inspections, and inspection of complex flight hardware.
  • Experience inspecting soldering, crimping, conformal coating, staking, surface-mounted and through-hole components according to NASA 8739 and/or IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Wire harness inspection experience according to NASA-STD-8739.3 and 8739.4 and/or IPC-A-620, plus electronic testing with portable measuring devices.
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing under U.S. export control requirements.

Nice to have

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with ESD-sensitive components, ESD-controlled environments, microscopes, or other magnification equipment.
  • Familiarity with component traceability, date and lot codes, manufacturer part numbers, and Certificates of Conformance.
  • Experience with MS Suite and ERP/MRP applications.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, make independent judgments, and work effectively in a high-stress, changing environment.
