R&D DevSecOps Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States. U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. An active Secret clearance is preferred.

What you will do

• Build backend services, APIs, data workflows, and AI-enabled mission applications.
• Develop model-agnostic coding agents and LLM workflows with human approval, prompt history, auditability, and controlled tool access.
• Enforce architecture, cybersecurity, testing, accessibility, deployment, and software supply-chain standards through automated policies and CI/CD controls.
• Modernize application portfolios through replatforming, refactoring, retirement, preservation, or API wrapping using AI-assisted analysis.
• Build hardened AI development environments with isolated execution, restricted permissions, secure containers, and virtual machines.
• Develop Platform One-compatible workflows and collaborate with software, platform, cybersecurity, and mission teams to move R&D prototypes into operational use.

Requirements

• Strong software development experience, particularly with Python.
• Experience building backend services, APIs, integrations, or data-driven applications.
• Experience with generative AI, LLM applications, coding agents, or AI-assisted software development.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, cloud-native development, or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, automated testing, security scanning, and infrastructure-as-code.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Active Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience with Platform One, Party Bus, Big Bang, Iron Bank, or DoD software factories.
• Experience with agentic-development tools such as OpenCode, Codex, Claude Code, LangGraph, LangChain, or LlamaIndex.
• Experience with FastAPI, Prefect, Temporal, PostgreSQL, vector databases, event-driven systems, AWS, Azure, Helm, Terraform, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Argo CD.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, RMF, DISA STIGs, CMMC, cATO, SAST, DAST, SBOM generation, dependency scanning, and observability.
