What you will do

• Set and advance the underwriting strategy for the Community & Public Services market segment, including social services, municipalities, schools, senior living, and religious institutions.
• Generate portfolio, line, segment, market-size, and regional insights to drive profitable growth and diversification.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor underwriting guidelines, standards, appetite, and coverage opportunities.
• Assess economic, technological, social, political, and environmental factors affecting customers and develop risk-mitigation strategies.
• Lead and develop subject matter experts supporting regional underwriters through referrals, consultations, coaching, training, and knowledge transfer.
• Provide expertise on complex and high-exposure risks and partner with actuarial, analytics, claims, legal, product, marketing, compliance, and regional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 10+ years of generalist Commercial Lines underwriting experience, including 5+ years in the Community & Public Services market segment.
• Proven leadership, problem-solving, presentation, customer service, networking, relationship-building, sales, and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing small projects.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing and ability to drive an automobile.
