Design Engineer I – New Product Development Engineering

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; up to 25% international and domestic travel

What you will do

• Design assigned components, sub-assemblies, and systems from concept and CAD layouts through validation and production release.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, tolerance stacks, and engineering specifications.
• Analyze design trade-offs involving performance, cost, weight, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Support prototype builds, pilot builds, PPAP, product testing, and engineering change documentation.
• Develop and execute verification activities including stress, durability, environmental, abuse, and tolerance testing.
• Collaborate with product management, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, quality, suppliers, and global cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–3 years of design experience in consumer, industrial, or electromechanical products; internships and co-ops are considered.
• Experience with 3D CAD such as Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or an equivalent tool.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven product development environment.

Nice to have

• Product development or manufacturing internship or co-op experience.
• Familiarity with injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, machining, or other manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience with prototype assembly or product testing.
