Focus on diagnosing complex mechanical faults, performing engine overhauls, interpreting equipment and oil analysis, and maintaining safe, productive fleet operations.

What you will do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on heavy equipment, compact equipment, light service equipment, and light trucks.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical systems, suspension, wheels, tires, and undercarriages.
- Service compactors, excavators, wheel loaders, and other diesel and gasoline vehicles.
- Read equipment condition reports and repair orders, clarify defects with supervisors and operators, and discuss preventive techniques.
- Document parts usage, repair times, consumables, fuel and oil usage, and fleet information in the company’s fleet management software.
- Perform oil sampling and on-board computer analysis, engine overhauls, and all work in accordance with safety procedures.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a technician role working on heavy equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of air brakes, tires, hydraulics, electrical systems, drivetrain, suspension, steering, and wheel-end components.
- Mechanical trade school certificate or degree and a certificate in electrical diagnostics.
- Applicable ASE certifications and working knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems.
- At least 1 year of experience applying OSHA HazCom, lockout/tagout, and fire protection regulations.
- Welding or fabrication skills and experience are required.
