Environmental Engineer / Geologist / Scientist

Location: West Allis, Wisconsin, United States; regional and state-wide travel required, ranging from 50% to 100% depending on the project and season.

Salary: USD $51,916.80–$77,000.00 per year, plus potential participation in an annual discretionary bonus program.

What you will do

• Support environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects in field and office settings.
• Conduct site reconnaissance and install and sample soil borings, soil vapor probes, and groundwater monitoring wells.
• Schedule and oversee excavation, drilling, construction subcontractors, and field data collection.
• Prepare technical reports, graphics, feasibility studies, work plans, designs, and construction documents.
• Analyze environmental data, perform calculations, assist with database development, and interpret geologic and hydrogeologic findings.
• Support complex project tasks, proposal development, work scopes, budgets, and collaboration with clients and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, geological engineering, environmental science, geoscience, hydrogeology, or geology.
• Willingness and ability to perform and manage field work, including construction oversight, drilling oversight, and soil and groundwater sampling, for 50%–100% of the position.
• Strong technical writing, communication, computer, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively under multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, background check, and motor vehicle records check.

Nice to have

• 0–3+ years of environmental engineering, compliance, investigation, or remediation consulting experience, including internships.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification with current annual refresher training, or willingness to complete the training and enter the medical monitoring program.
• Knowledge of Wisconsin NR 700 environmental regulations.
• Professional Engineer or Geologist license, or willingness to obtain licensure when eligible.
• Additional environmental certifications, such as Certified Asbestos Inspector.
