Location: Chicago, United States; travel within and outside hirify.global's six-county region is required.

Salary: $78,627–$117,941 per year

What you will do

• Review, prepare, negotiate, execute, and maintain complex contracts, specifications, solicitations, and procurement documents.
• Manage competitive bidding processes, including sealed bids, proposals, requests for quotes, and statements of qualifications.
• Research markets, analyze value and pricing, identify vendors, and recommend procurement strategies and delivery methods.
• Monitor contractor performance, project progress, payment provisions, delivery schedules, contract issues, and final close-outs.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, agency policies, funding requirements, and public procurement standards.
• Coordinate daily team activities, assign projects, and provide guidance and training to junior team members without serving as a supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, supply chain, materials management, industrial distribution, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least four years of experience in procurement operations, materials management, contract administration or management, or as a senior buyer.
• Strong knowledge of public-sector and transit procurement principles, solicitation methods, complex contract documents, and applicable regulations, including FTA, IDOT, and RTA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and experience with ERP, procurement, materials management, or contract management systems.
• Strong communication, negotiation, organization, analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills, with high professional integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage projects and negotiate contracts for services, materials, supplies, construction, and information technology, and willingness to travel within and outside hirify.global's six-county region.

Nice to have

• Team lead or supervisory experience.
• CPP, CPPB, CPPM, or comparable procurement certification.
