Legal Invoice Review Quality Assurance Analyst (Legal)

Salary: $75,900.00–$129,950.00 USD per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

• Conduct expert quality assurance reviews of legal invoice analysts’ adjustments and non-adjusted invoice lines.
• Assess legal terminology and context, verify compliance with client billing guidelines, and validate UTBMS fee, activity, and expense codes.
• Make and document additional invoice adjustments and corrections, including the violated guideline and rationale for the adjusted amount.
• Manage law firm reconsideration requests and resolve disputed invoice entries through professional written expert-to-expert communication.
• Support appeals mediation by analyzing invoice history, extracting core legal concepts, and preparing written summaries for clients and resolution conferences.
• Provide guidance to business partners and collaborate with audit and appeals teams on complex legal billing interpretations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school required.
• Strong understanding of legal terminology, claims-related legal situations, and legal fee and expense analysis.
• Sound command of English grammar, syntax, style, punctuation, and capitalization, with excellent spelling and proofreading skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, judgment, and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn electronic legal bill submission and auditing software.
